What an exciting time it is to be a part of FBC Bude! Our new schedule seems to really be working great. God has blessed us with great Wednesday night services. The Sunday night Bible studies have been awesome too. Our numbers are up for both of these times. God is doing some great things. We must strive to keep our excitement and hunger for God at full blast. Do not let the fire that is in your heart be put out by the things of the world. We must keep our eyes on Jesus!
The Wednesday night meals have gone better than I thought they would. Just bear with us as we get this part ironed out. We will continue to make adjustments and get this to where we want it.
Mrs. Sandra Geter sent me a text message with this Scripture that really spoke to my heart. It was Deuteronomy 7:6, "For you are a holy people, who belong to the Lord your God. Of all the people on earth, the Lord your God has chosen you to be his own special treasure." We have been chosen by God to be His special treasure. Do you live with the realization that you are a treasure to God? Let's try to do just that. Realize how special you are to God and live like it. Why should we allow discouragement get us down?

Dear Friends,
A wonderful event took place Thanksgiving evening, 2011. Joe Travis and I were married at his daughter’s home with our family and friends gathered around. My name now will be Sandra Travis. Thank all of you for sweet comments and wishes for our happiness. I know this is out of context, but this verse seems so appropriate: Psalm 118:8 “This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.”
If you missed our January 3rd Joy meeting, you missed a blessing. Kevin Waller brought our devotional on being ready for the return of Jesus. We are always “getting ready” for something, but the most important event we should be getting ready for is Jesus appearing in the sky. Are you ready?
We played Bingo and had a lot of fun. It was a great way to spend a cold day, and being with wonderful friends was so special. Next month will be a Valentine theme.
I pray your year will be a blessed one with your relationship with Christ growing in more love and devotion to Him.

Mission and Purpose Statement for all Ministries of FBC Bude.
First Baptist Church Bude is a collection of many different and unique ministries made up of the fellowship of believers whose faith, purpose and goals are centered on the Living Lord Jesus Christ and to carry on His missions and purposes until He returns. ( Matt. 28:19-20, Acts 20:24, John 20:21 )
Therefore the heart and purpose of all ministries and the ministers of FBC Bude will be to bring Honor and Glory to God by serving others.
All Ministries shall be conducted and carried out in a manner that will be pleasing and expectable to the Lord and measured by the standard of God's word.
First and foremost our goal and purpose in ministry is to bring Glory to the kingdom of Christ.
As ministers we follow the example of Christ by living as a servant and this calling deserves our greatest efforts. (Col. 3:23-24 )
Secondly our focus in all Ministry shall be to serve others by meeting needs in their lives.
(These needs may be spiritual, emotional , or physical ). We understand that God has given us talents, gifts and passions to be coupled with our experiences in order to help others find and grow closer to the Lord.
